Crown Jewel by Sealy Mattress Guide (2026): First, Second, Fourth, Sixth & Eighth & Park Compared

Crown Jewel by Sealy Mattress Guide (2026): First, Second, Fourth, Sixth & Eighth & Park Compared

Want a Sealy mattress without paying Posturepedic prices? That is exactly what Crown Jewel by Sealy is for. It is Sealy's value line, and it comes in five "Park" series: First, Second, Fourth, Sixth and Eighth & Park. A queen runs from about $430 to just over $1,000.

The names don't tell you much, though. This guide breaks down what changes from one series to the next, which one fits your sleep style, and where your money goes the furthest.

Quick Answer: Which Crown Jewel Mattress Should You Buy?

  • Tightest budget or a guest room: First & Park Foam 7". Simple, medium feel, lowest price.
  • Kids' rooms and first apartments: Second & Park. A real coil mattress for not much more.
  • Best value for most adults: Fourth & Park. This is where you get a 10-year warranty, a reinforced edge and the moisture-protecting cover.
  • Want a sturdier edge and more comfort foam: Sixth & Park.
  • The most Sealy you can get in this line: Eighth & Park. Thickest build, Sealy's step-up coil and the most feel options.

What Changes as You Move Up the Line?

Every Crown Jewel mattress is designed, assembled and tested by Sealy in the USA. As you go up from First to Eighth & Park, four things change.

1. The coil unit

The First & Park and the Second & Park Medium Foam are all foam. The other Second & Park models use the SealyClassic Open Coil. Fourth & Park moves to the Response Open Coil. Sixth & Park steps up to the SealyStability Coil, and Eighth & Park uses the SealyStability Plus Coil. A better coil unit generally means more even support and less sag over the years.

2. The edge

Second & Park has no edge system listed. From Fourth & Park up, every model has one: SolidEdge, StableEdge Pro, or DuraFlex Coil Edge. A firm edge matters if you sit on the side of the bed to put on shoes, or if you share the bed and sleep near the edge.

3. The comfort layers

Thickness goes up as you climb. First & Park has 1" of SealyComfort Gel Memory Foam. Eighth & Park stacks SealyComfort Air Foam, gel memory foam and SealySupport Gel Foam for a 14.5" to 15" mattress. More foam means more pressure relief at the shoulders and hips.

4. The cover and warranty

Starting at Fourth & Park, the cover has MoistureProtect Surface-Guard Technology to help guard against odors and stains. (The Second & Park Medium Foam also has a Surface-Guard cover.) The warranty also jumps from 1 or 3 years to a 10-year limited warranty. For most people, that jump alone makes Fourth & Park the smart floor.

Each Series, Up Close

First & Park Foam 7": the starter bed

This is a simple all-foam mattress: 1" of SealyComfort Gel Memory Foam on top of 6" of SealySupport Foam, with a soft knit cover. It has a medium feel. At 7" tall, it works best for a guest room, a bunk bed or a daybed. It carries a 1-year limited warranty, so we don't recommend it as an adult's everyday bed.

Second & Park: coils on a budget

Second & Park gives you three choices:

  • Firm Tight Top 10.5": SealyClassic Open Coil with a thin comfort layer. Firm and bouncy.
  • Soft Tight Top 12": same coil, more foam on top for a softer feel.
  • Medium Foam 10": all foam, comes compressed in a box, and has the Surface-Guard cover and a 10-year limited warranty.

The coil models carry a 3-year limited warranty. They're a solid choice for a growing kid or a first apartment. If this is your main bed, the Medium Foam's longer warranty is worth the extra cost.

Fourth & Park: the sweet spot

Fourth & Park is where the line starts to feel like a "real" Sealy. Every model uses the Response Open Coil with the SolidEdge System, has the MoistureProtect Surface-Guard cover, and has a 10-year limited warranty. All four models land within about $40 of each other at queen size.

Sixth & Park: a sturdier build

Sixth & Park moves the spring models up to the SealyStability Coil with the StableEdge Pro System, and adds four handles so the mattress is easier to rotate. The Firm and Soft Tight Top 12.5" are only about $50 more than Fourth & Park at queen size. The Soft Euro Pillow Top 14" adds more soft gel foam. The Medium Hybrid 12" uses the Response Open Coil with a thicker gel memory foam top and a stretch-knit cover.

Eighth & Park: the top of the line

Eighth & Park is the most mattress you can get in Crown Jewel. The spring models use the SealyStability Plus Coil with the DuraFlex Coil Edge System, stand 14.5" to 15" tall, and have four handles. You also get the widest range of feels:

A queen Eighth & Park costs about $900 to $1,000. That's still less than most Sealy Posturepedic models.

Which Crown Jewel Is Best for Your Sleep Style?

Back sleepers

Go medium to firm. The Fourth & Park Firm Tight Top or the Eighth & Park Medium Tight Top keep your hips from sinking too far.

Side sleepers

Your shoulders and hips need room to sink in. Look at the Soft Tight Top or Soft Euro Pillow Top in Fourth, Sixth or Eighth & Park.

Stomach sleepers

Firm is your friend. Try the Fourth & Park Firm Hybrid or the Eighth & Park Ultra Firm.

Couples

Step up to Sixth or Eighth & Park. The stronger edge systems give you more usable sleep space, and the extra comfort foam helps soften movement when your partner turns over.

Kids and guest rooms

First & Park or Second & Park keep the cost low for a bed that doesn't get used every night.

Crown Jewel vs. Sealy Posturepedic: Is It Worth Stepping Up?

Crown Jewel is built for value. Sealy Posturepedic is Sealy's main line, with more advanced support features and higher price points. If your budget tops out around $1,000 for a queen, Crown Jewel's Eighth & Park gets you a lot of mattress. If you have more room in the budget, compare it with the Posturepedic lineup in our Sealy Posturepedic vs. Pro vs. Elite guide, and see how Sealy stacks up against its biggest rival in Sealy vs. Beautyrest.

4 Mistakes to Avoid When Buying a Crown Jewel Mattress

1. Buying the cheapest model for an adult's everyday bed

The First & Park and the Second & Park coil models have short warranties. For a bed you sleep on every night, start at Fourth & Park for the 10-year limited warranty.

2. Picking by thickness alone

A taller mattress isn't always softer. The Eighth & Park Ultra Firm is 14.5" tall and still very firm. Choose by the feel name first.

3. Skipping the base

An old, sagging box spring can make a new mattress feel worn out on day one. If you're thinking about an adjustable base, read Can You Use Any Mattress on an Adjustable Bed? before you buy, and browse our adjustable beds.

4. Forgetting a protector

A spill or stain can void a mattress warranty. A mattress protector is cheap insurance for your new bed.

How Long Will a Crown Jewel Mattress Last?

The best clue is the warranty. Fourth, Sixth and Eighth & Park carry a 10-year limited warranty, and with good care they're built for years of nightly use. The entry models are better suited for lighter or part-time use. Rotating the mattress every few months helps it wear evenly, and the handles on Sixth and Eighth & Park make that easier.
