An alternative to a box spring, the Serta® Mattress Foundation gives your mattress a solid, flat, non-flexing base — and now comes in two heights. Choose the 9" standard for a traditional bed height, or the 6" low profile for a lower, more modern look and easier moves through tight stairways. Both are backed by a 10-Year Limited Warranty.
A mattress is only as good as what sits under it. A sagging or flexing base is one of the most common causes of premature mattress wear — and one of the most common reasons a warranty claim gets denied. The Serta® Mattress Foundation gives your mattress a firm, stationary surface that doesn't work against it.
It also helps isolate motion between two sleepers, so movement on one side of the bed is less likely to carry across to the other.
Height is the only difference between the two — same construction, same support, same price at every size. It comes down to how tall you want the finished bed to sit, and whether a full-height foundation will physically make it into the room.
As a rule of thumb: if you're replacing an old box spring and want the bed at the same height as before, take the 9". If your mattress is already thick, or your frame is tall, or your headboard is low, take the 6".
The traditional height. Sits the mattress at a classic bed height for an easier sit-down and stand-up, and matches what a standard box spring would have given you.
Same support, 3" less height. The pick for a thick mattress, a tall bed frame or a low headboard — and the easier one to get up a narrow stairway or through a tight doorway.
King and Cal King ship as two matching foundations that sit side by side under a single mattress. Both also work under a Split King or Split Cal King set.
Serta® foundations are designed to be supported by platform frames or traditional bases. For Queen and King sizes, use a frame with center support that extends to the floor.
This is a flat, stationary foundation. If you want head and foot articulation, choose an adjustable base instead — a foundation and an adjustable base do the same job of supporting the mattress, so you only need one.
Your Serta® foundation comes with a 10-Year Limited Warranty and meets or exceeds Federal Fire Retardancy Standards when used with a compatible mattress. Pairing your mattress with a matching foundation is also the simplest way to keep it properly supported over its life — and to keep your mattress warranty intact.
Your adjustable base is warranted by the manufacturer against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase to the original Purchaser. During such time, the manufacturer will repair or replace, at no cost to the original Purchaser, any warranted part(s)* found to be defective by the manufacturer, in its sole discretion. This includes all pre-authorized labor and transportation costs incurred with the repair or replacement of any part found to be defective.
During year 3 through 5 from the original purchase date, the manufacturer will replace any part on the adjustable base found to be defective by the manfacturer, to the original Purchaser. The manufacturer’s liability is limited to the replacement of the defective electrical/mechanical part(s)* ONLY with the Purchaser responsible for all service, installation, and transportation cost of said part(s).
Notwithstanding the above, the manufacturer extends a 10-year warranty on mechanical base parts found to be defective on a limited basis as defined herein. Specifically, the manufacturer warrants that for a full 10 years from the commencement date of this warranty, any defect in the workmanship or the materials used shall be covered. For purposes of this 10-year warranty, it specifically excludes the cover, shroud, platform, legs, actuator lift motors, massage motors, control box, remote controls, power supply, and all power supply cords. The purchaser shall pay 1/5 of the current MSRP of the replacement part, or the entire adjustable base if deemed irreparable at the sole discretion of the manufacturer, multiplied by the number of years after the fifth year from the original purchase date. The manufacturer’s liability shall be limited to the replacement of the defective part(s) ONLY with the purchaser responsible for all service, installation and freight costs for said part. This warranty does not apply to floor models.
