- Named by street, climbing as the number goes up. Warranty varies here: 1 or 3 years on the cheapest models, 10 years higher up

- Ultra firm through soft, in tight top, euro pillow top and hybrid builds
- Paterson II is the only family in this line, so the choice is build and feel, not model name

Making sense of the ladder
- Coil count is the spine of it
- 736 in Posturepedic, 966 in Plus, 1,066 in Pro and Elite. Crown Jewel runs 638 open coils, or 911 encased on its top models. More coils means support that follows your body more closely.
- Coil edge vs foam edge
- A foam border (SolidEdge™) costs less; coils around the perimeter hold their shape better. Plus, Pro, Elite and the top Crown Jewel models use the sturdiest version, DuraFlex™ — worth having if you sit on the edge or use an adjustable base.
- Spring or hybrid
- Most lines come both ways. The hybrid adds a layer of gel memory foam above the coils, so it contours more; the spring build sleeps a touch firmer and usually costs less.
- Tight top vs euro pillow top
- A tight top is flat and firmer. A euro pillow top adds a sewn-on cushion layer, which is where the taller profiles in each line come from.
