Taking a closer look at Sealy's Newness Latex Mattress

At the top of the Sealy Optimum Latex mattress line, you will find this gem. The Sealy Optimum Newness latex mattress. This is a plush mattress lovers dream easily comparing to a water bed in its comfort but adding much better, more resilient support. This is an easy recommendation for side sleepers! It also has other benefits in addition to the incredible comfort that really take it to the high-end level that it deserves, such as superior temperature regulation thanks to the OUTLAST treatment in the top layer, and reduced motion transfer due to the gel-like construction of the bed. This is especially beneficial to couples with differing schedules.

Comfort for the Side Sleeper - 4/5

If you have read other Optimum mattress reviews on our site, you know that I am a side sleeper. That being said, I love this mattress. It is very plush and extremely comfortable. The latex layers help reduce pressure on your shoulders and hips significantly making this a very comfortable bed for a side sleeper. I sunk into the mattress a little bit, but not the way you would into a gel memory foam mattress. It didn't feel like it was slowly engulfing me, it felt more like it was hugging me. Once I laid down, it instantly conformed to my side and I was relaxing. This is highly recommended for the side sleeper.

Comfort for the Back Sleeper - 4/5

If you are a back sleeper and prefer a plush mattress, you will love this mattress. The cloud-like comfort conforms to your lower back and supports your upper back like you expect from a high-end mattress. If you do not prefer plush comfort, then I recommend the Brasswood latex mattress. Overall, I definitely recommend this mattress for the back sleeper for a comfortably soft sleeping experience.

Comfort for the Stomach Sleeper - 3/5

If you tend to sleep on your stomach, this mattress is likely not for you. Stomach sleeping tends to require a firm and support comfort in the mattress, which you will not find here. This is definitely a plush mattress which will create an uncomfortable curve in your back. I do not recommend the Newness latex mattress to the stomach sleeper.

Overall Experience

Overall the Optimum Newness latex mattress offers an incredible plush sleeping surface, that is ideal for side and back sleepers. You will fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and sleep more deeply through the night thanks to the superior temperature regulation, and resilient body contouring support that the Optimum collection is known for.
