Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid Cobalt Firm Mattress Review
This mattress has been discontinued
The Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid Premier Cobalt Firm mattress is the intro model to the new Hybrid premier line-up. The combination of gel memory foam and individually encased innersprings make it a superior mattress than any model that just has one or the other. The Hybrid Cobalt is a firm mattress, but with its gel memory foam top, it can easily appeal to plush mattress lovers. In this review, we are going to take a look at how the comfort of this mattress rates in a couple of the more popular sleeping positions.
Comfort by Position
Comfort for the Side Sleeper 4/5
A firm comfort level is not usually ideal for the side sleeper but in the Hybrid Cobalt mattress, it can work with the right pillow. I am a side sleeper myself and was using an Optimum pillow while testing out this mattress. I was quite comfortable, There was comfortable pressure on my shoulder and I felt like my hips were up in an ideal alignment. There was no sinking feeling that you typically get from a gel memory foam mattress, and changing positions or sides was quite painless without having to wait for the gel memory foam to catch up.
Comfort for the Back Sleeper 5/5
If you sleep on your back, the Cobalt is a great mattress for you. The deep support of the innerspring system helps keep the gel memory foam conformed to your body especially your lower back, so you feel supported from head to toe. I was very comfortable without any real discomfort throughout my back and neck. The memory foam layers took very good care of any pressure concerns I thought I would have.
Comfort for the Stomach Sleeper 4/5
The Sealy Hybrid Cobalt firm mattress can easily work for the stomach sleeper. This is usually problematic with gel memory foam, as it tends to slowly envelop you, causing you to sink in and slowly get less and less comfortable. That is not the case with this mattress. You do feel the memory foam conform to you, but with the innerspring system below there is hardly any sinking, which means you stay comfortable. I do recommend a thin pillow to keep your neck in the proper alignment.
Hybrid Mattress Construction
Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid mattresses take advantage of two of the best mattress technologies available today. Individually wrapped innerspring coils, and gel memory foam to provide the best comfort and support of any mattress you will find on the market today. By combining these two technologies Sealy has created a mattress that enjoys the benefits of each technology without any of the drawbacks.
Sealy 10 Year non-prorated limited manufacturer's warranty helps to protect your purchase against manufacturer's defects in material or workmanship for 10 years with no proration.
